2nd time doing Cherry Blossom

This is the second time I make Cherry Blossom bouquet...

The first was 2 years ago for my sis in law house warming...

Then, 2 days ago my sis in law called & asked if it is ok to make the same one for her to give to a friend...I said OK & this is what I did this time...

Since she said she wanted the exact same one as hers, but to be honest, I can't really remember how I did it previously...LOL...I only have a picture as a reference, I did it with my best effort to be as close as possible...you know me, Designed With Passion always strive to deliver unique, one of a kind, limited edition...so this is what it looks like in a vase...

Up-close from different angle...

Over the years, I think I've mastered my skills...:D

I'm glad it turned out great! Love it so much...maybe I should do some for my own as well for the up-coming Chinese New Year...

The Cute Key-chain/Bag Charm story continues...

Today when I picked up Christopher from school, he mentioned *excitedly* that it was his friend, Alya's birthday today & they had a party in the school...then came the golden request...can you prepare a present for me to give her? Hm...I guess I should expect it already...LOL...

As I mentioned in my previous blog, after several 'surprised' & last minute requests from both of my sons asking for presents, I got smart & prepared some goodies & keep so that as & when there is a last minute request like this, I can just pick & choose. All I need to do is assemble it & viola! It is ready to go...

Guess who came to the rescue this time...

It's Ms Mini Teddy Monroe! I made her last month...If you notice, I usually will make bears as I find it is cuter to give bears instead of other characters...

Now let the assembling begins! I crocheted the alphabet A just now.

Then, I prepared the card & the gift bag...

The key-chain/bag charm is done! It only took me about half an hour to crochet the alphabet & assemble everything together!

Now Ms Mini Teddy Monroe is ready to meet her new owner, Alya. happy birthday to you Alya...hope you like the present! :D

Presenting...the Friendship Kokeshi Dolls...

After my 'success' in my experiments doing kokeshi dolls, I finally made 4 dolls with big eyes, as suggested by a lot of my male friends...LOL

So, here it is...

From Left to Right...
Blue doll - Sue
Pink doll - Alice
Purple doll - Jo
Orange doll - Iris

Four of them are best friends & they are very close to each other's heart...as you guessed it, Jo is me...Sue, Iris & Alice are my best friends since secondary school...

Ever wonder why Sue is Blue, Alice is Pink, Jo is Purple & Iris is Orange? Well, I didn't decide the colors...they chose the color themselves. But from the color itself, we can guess the character of the 4 friends...:)

Let's look at the colors & their meaning...
Blue - friendly, peaceful, loyal, sincere and trustworthy
The Sue that I've known is friendly & she is always at peace & very calm when handling any situations. She is definitely trustworthy & loyal...be it with her friends or work...

Orange - energetic, warmth, joy, enthusiastic and sunshine
Iris is always the happy-go-lucky girl & she loves the sun! What does that tell you? :)

Pink - love, tender, romantic, charming & approachable
Alice is quiet but she is very charming in her way. She is my longest known best friend! Many often mistaken her as shy due to her quietness, but once they know her, they will see that she is friendly & very approachable. She always has a way to charm everyone she meets too!

Purple - royalty, nobility, elegant, power, and ambition
That's me! Very ambitious & love power. Not sure whether it is a good thing or not...LOL

The dolls are so adorable that I have to continue!

I even made them outfits in 4 seasons theme: Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter. Do you know which one is Spring, Summer, Autumn & Winter? :D

Well, Spring is always related to Cherry Blossom & sunny days, so it is Pink. Guess who likes Spring?

Then, Summer is hot & bright, so it is Yellow. Guess who is Summer?

Leaves turn Orangy during Autumn, so it is Orange. And, Winter has snow & often, snow is associated with Blue...

OK, time to reveal the answers!

Iris chooses Spring...

Alice chooses Summer...

Sue loves Autumn...

And Jo loves the snow, so she chooses Winter...

How do you identify the dolls you ask...

Well, it's easy! Just look at their hair...

Sue always ties her hair up with 2 buns, Alice always has a flower clip on her hair, Iris will put on her ribbon & Jo will tie her hair in a bun with flowers...that's how you identify them...:)

Another Cute Keychain/Bag Charm

I came back from work today & my eldest son told me it was his best friend's (Ha Youn - she is a Korean) birthday today & they had a party in the school...I asked whether he knew today was his best friend's birthday & he said no...he then mentioned that he wanted to give her a present (What's new?) & wondering if I can make him a present...

After the last few incidents of rushed jobs to come up with my sons requests for presents, I got smart...:)

I've made many items, sitting in my craft area, waiting to be transformed into something special...

This time, I prepare a Minnie Mouse Keychain/Bag Charm.

I have always wanted to try making the signature icon...I think it is a success...as for the bow, finally I found the perfect bow from http://stitch11.com/botique-bow/...thanks to Corin Gray for the lovely design...love it so much! In fact, I enjoyed making the icon & bow so much I kept a few for emergencies like this round...:)

This is what I've made:
A Mickey/Minnie signature icon & Minnie's boutique Bow

I added a card & voila! It's ready to go!

Cool huh! So hope my son's little gal friend will love it! :D
