Ketupat Making & Raya Card Making Event

For the last 3 weeks, we were having a concourse event in conjunction of the upcoming Raya celebration.

It was amazing to teach so many young kids the value of tradition & what Raya is all about.

Here is some of the crafts that we taught:

The traditional Ketupat is a little tough for some kids, but when they finally did it...it is priceless!

Hari Raya Cards of various designs:

And what Raya is without the Ketupat...

This Craft Making session was an initiative from Subway Putra Mall KL to promote the Ramadan. We were privilege to be part of their initiative!

Birthday Parties for the Kids

Last December, we had a small birthday celebration for both Christopher & Annabelle...

Since it was just a small lunch with the grandparents, I only order a cake for each of them...

Christopher was into Lego Star Wars...so he requested a Lego Star Wars theme. Made him this cake with lots of Star Wars mini figures...

As for Annabelle, she is into Sofia the First so I ordered a Sofia cake for her, with Sofia & Clover mini figure...

The birthday boy & birthday girl busy munching on the cake!

Teacher's Day Gifts from the boys

For this year's Teacher's Day, the kids did magnets & coaster for their teachers.

We have been teaching the kids to be appreciative towards their teachers & teaching assistants since day 1, so this year is no exception...

For Christopher, he made heart shape magnets for all the female teachers & coasters for all the male teachers.

Well, he most of them himself including writing the card...

Can see that his writing is not up to expectation but hey...I gotta give him credit for putting the effort to do it himself!

This special set is for his home room teacher, hence have a magnet & a coaster...

These coasters are for his male teachers...very colorful...

These are for the female teachers...

For the past years, I always help Constantine to make all his gifts...so this year, I asked him to make it himself since the younger brother is making his on his own!

Not too bad...the design is more structured...

These coasters are for male teachers...

And these are for female teachers...

From this, we can see that both brother are really different in terms of creativity.

Older brother is more structured in his work, maybe it is because he is older.

Younger brother is all about randomness! He likes colorful things & he actually took time to make it a random pattern! 😂😂😂

Chinese New Year Decoration at Craft Space

Chinese New Year is just a month away...to welcome the year of the Monkey...u should expect to see a lot of Monkey themed crafts...I really mean it 😜😜😜

After the successful decoration for Halloween & Xmas, we just can't stop & we want to continue to challenge ourselves further!

So, for this CNY decoration, we made cute monkeys...

How can we not have the Cherry Blossom tree???

We even added some Mandarin Oranges made from Magic Nuddles...

We have lots of cherry blossom flowers on the floor too!

Not to mention a lucky cat made from foam AND fire crackers from Ang Pow packets! 😍😍😍

I even took out my pride possession...the pineapple that I made when I was a teenager...cool huh?

Best of all...the wishing board is made using LOTS of Perler beads...we even manage to make it in Chinese characters...

We also made 2 Lucky Cats out of Perler Beads & are now on display...hopefully they will bring us more sales 😊😊😊

This decoration project is making all the instructors excited but for Putra team...we actually got some kids to involve in the making!

This masterpiece took us about 2 weeks to complete which involved at least 50 kids! 😍😍😍

Super loving this!

Merry Christmas from Craft Space!

After the success of our Halloween theme decoration, we just have to make another one for Xmas...how can we not?! This time, the other instructors & I decided to use different materials to make the Xmas theme. This is also to show what we preached ourselves to be a Crafter that teach different crafts using different materials...

Preparation started about 2 weeks before December.

We made a Christmas tree using toilet paper roll wrapped with green & brown papers. Then we wrapped ribbons around it & sticker some Pom Poms of different sizes as the ornaments. We also added some candy sticks ornament and Santa Claus ornament made from Rainbow Loom.

We put some 'presents' under the tree.

Next, with toilet paper roll, made An angel, Santa, a snowman & a reindeer...

Completed decoration...giant snowflakes from Popsicle sticks covered with glitters & rhinestones, a Perler Beads Gingerbread Man, a giant Chenille Stem Candy Stick, & a quilled Poinsettia!

Oh, we also made a golden star using Chenille Stem too!

After we completed the decoration for Craft Space The School Jaya One, we just can't stop! So we did 1 set for our Sunway Putra KL center too! But it is slightly different as we have limited space there... 😅😅😅

We made a Paper Plate Snowman...

A Paper Plate Wreath...

A Pom Pom Snowman...this is super fluffy!

Giant Snowflakes using Popsicle Sticks...

A Christmas tree using foam, a giant star with Chenille Stem & paper...Jingle Bells...

Giant Chenille Stem Candy Sticks...

Another Snowman using Cotton balls...

An Angel...

This is how it looked like when we put up the decoration on 1 side...

Oh...we forgot about the reindeer 😂😂😂

The e citation attracted a lot of passerby to our center again! Yippee!!!

Mission accomplished!
