Ketupat Making & Raya Card Making Event

For the last 3 weeks, we were having a concourse event in conjunction of the upcoming Raya celebration.

It was amazing to teach so many young kids the value of tradition & what Raya is all about.

Here is some of the crafts that we taught:

The traditional Ketupat is a little tough for some kids, but when they finally did it...it is priceless!

Hari Raya Cards of various designs:

And what Raya is without the Ketupat...

This Craft Making session was an initiative from Subway Putra Mall KL to promote the Ramadan. We were privilege to be part of their initiative!

34th Craft activity (16th - 30th May 2016)

For this week, we taught kids how to make a notebook based on their creativity.

We let the kids expand their creativity on the notebook...

They can have it in drawing, by hand...

Or have it in any foam character of their choice...or...make it with their favorite Perler Beads cartoon character!

33rd Craft Activity (28th Apr - 11th May 2016)

Mothers are the greatest human being in the world...they can be a daughter, a wife, a mom, chef, teacher, chauffeur, counsellor, friend, domestic helper aka cleaner, etc etc etc...all at the same time!

I always wonder how women manage it all until I became mom myself...😂😂😂

So, for this year's Mothers Day, we teach kids to make something useful for mommy dearest!

Each set of coaster comes with a 3D card handmade by the kids themselves...there are 4 designs for them to choose...

Plus, to celebrate the sacrifices of the most beautiful woman on the world, we give away a stalk of crochet flower, a flower keychain/bag charm, and a flower magnet...each of it is carefully hand crafted with lots of TLC...

And to appreciate the great effort of my Instructors, each of them get this to give to their mom...a bouquet of flower & a flower magnet... Each bouquet is unique on its own...

And... I also made half dozen bouquet for my mom too! 😍😍😍

31st Craft Activity (31st March - 13th April 2016)

Beading is definitely addictive!!!

As this is by far one of the most popular craft at my center, we need to continue to come up with more designs to keep the kids excited, most importantly, to keep all of my instructors (including myself) excited...😜😜😜

Last year, we made lots of coasters, from fruit to flower to princesses to superheroes...

This year, we try something different...

Ta-daa!!! Last year we protect the bottom of the cup, this year, we protect the top of the cup...😜😜😜 YEA!!! We HAVE to make it in donut form...

Hungry for donuts? 😜😜😜

28th Craft Activity (13th & 14th Feb 2016)

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!

This year's V-Day, we teach kids how to make photo frames & treasure boxes...using Popsicle sticks! 😍😍😍

As always, we have few selection for the kids to choose from. They can either choose to make a photo frame or a treasure box...PLUS a V Day card for their beloved family member! 😊😊😊

Lots of ❤️💛💚💙💜...too cute to just ignore them, isn't it?

27th Week of Craft Activity (23 Jan 2016 - 5th Feb 2016)

OK, bear with me for this, I'm trying to catch up with all my long overdue blogs!

I will be blasting you with the previous crafts that we have highlighted since the beginning of the year until current in 1 go!!!

So here you go...

As you are know, we have changed the Craft of the Week to every fortnight. Reason being my Instructors are having a tough time catching up with my demand...

So, now, we only change our activity every 2 weeks, sometimes 3 weeks, depending on the season.

For the 1st ever craft for the new year (27th since we started our craft activity journey), it is the CNY Craft, as CNY is on the 8th of Feb...and since this year is the Year of Monkey, do expect to see them, lots of em'...

We made few types of crafts, mainly to decorate the house:

We have it in Magic Nuudles...

Paper Plate...

Popsicle Stick...this serves as mini fan...

Hanging Ornaments...

I super super love all of them! Thanks to my super creative Instructors, Cheryl & Aqilah!

Happy Birthday Emma!

2 weeks ago, we had a birthday party conducted at our craft center, Craft Space, located at The School Jaya One.

Those who know me knows I always like to personalize everything! From apparels to accessories to parties! Yes, parties! I have been decorating my kids parties since they are born!

Emma's party is no exception! Especially since it will be done at our own craft center! It would be such a waste not to decorate it, wouldn't it?! I mean...it is something I'm passionate about & I love the look of a happy kid! So, I've decided to throw in a little surprise for our birthday gal...

Since the decoration will be a surprise, I had to be very careful when getting information from Emma's mom. I asked about her age...Mommy told me to get some helium balloons to make the center more like a party...with 3 colors: Red, Pink & Yellow...

So, with the limited information, I tried to see what we can do...

Firstly, I need a backdrop...so We DIY the backdrop with simple wordings, together with the birthday gal's name. Since she is a girl, I put up flowers & butterflies on the backdrop. Lots of flowers & butterflies...

This is how the backdrop looks like when it is done...

Rainbow colored Roses on top of the backdrop, daisies of Red, Pink & Yellow are all over the backdrop & little butterflies of contrast colors!

Oh, I even made a tiny tiara with blings...did you see it? I placed it on the top right hand side of the letter A in Emma!

Since we have decided to pick flowers as the theme, we also decorated the entrance to the party area with lots of flowers made from Chenille Stem...this is what we have done...

Oh! I even decorated the entrance with a fake cake...it has Emma's name on it too!

At the other side where the food is, I placed a huge Happy Birthday Banner on the wall. I also put up words "Emma is 4"

At the 11th hour, a day before the party, we noticed that 1 of the cabinets at the entrance to the party area is very empty...so we cut out teddy bears & lots of balloons using foam to decorate it. We also put up some bear paw prints...this can be the photo booth for the kids!

OK...now we wait for the party to start!

Food area is all setup & ready!

Party started with kids having fun with beads!

It is fun watching kids putting effort to complete a task, especially at their young age. It was our honor to have Emma here at Craft Space too!

Hope the birthday girl had a blast with the party & love the little surprises that we have put up for her big party! 😊😊😊

Mission accomplished!
