Who says Baby Booties got to be Boring? - Part 2

The baby booties that I've made were so pretty I have to continue making more...and this time I made 4 pairs to go with my girl's outfits...

1) Pastel Green Booties

2) Multi-color Booties (it's so soft I have to stuff something inside to make it stand)

3) Beige color Booties (Did you see the ladybugs?)

Here's the ladybug!

4) Yellow color Booties

In case you missed out the last blog on the booties that I've made, You may refer to it here: http://tinyurl.com/mogwmlp

Just so you know, I went shopping last weekend & saw Lovely Lace was selling those crocheted booties...very basic ones, without any flowers. They have 2 colors: White & Pink. Something like this design but with single color...no flower, only buttons...And, they have only 1 size...only for new born...

Take a wild guess how much are they selling...RM49.90 per pair...I was like: WHAT THE...? Simple booties without design going for RM49.90 & there's still people buying it? I think my booties are much prettier than those! Do you think so? You think I should write to Lovely Lace & send them the booties that I made? Maybe they will buy from me instead? LOL...who knows right?

So, before I write to Lovely Lace, I think I should perfect my skills & come out with more designs so that I can build a portfolio...and, in order for me to do that, I need a reason to crochet more...I can't just crochet for my girl alone...she will never able to finish wearing all!

As such, I have decided to sell them...see if you like any of the designs...if not, let me know...I will design 1 for you...the price per pair will be RM50 or USD15. Better grab it now before the designs go famous...LOL...it may not be just RM50 or USD15 then...hahaha

Oh! This is too CUTE for a key-chain!

Yesterday, Christopher (my 2nd son) brought back a party pack from school & told me that it was his classmate, Dalia's birthday. I was like...WHAT? Why didn't you tell me earlier so that we can prepare a present for her??? He went on & said: I told you many times! Yea, he did mention that Dalia's birthday is around the corner but when I asked him when, his favorite answer is...DUNNO...

Anyway, since he got a party pack, he requested to prepare a present for Dalia as he knew I will prepare a present for my eldest son's friend's birthday this Saturday. Gosh...he really thinks I can pull out a bunny from a hat...with so little time, I have to take care of my baby girl & prepare a present for him to give to Dalia.

But, I managed to finish it in about 3 hours, from creative to production...Guess I really am a Magician...LOL...I think I work best under pressure...this way, my creative juice just flow out.

Of course I don't have time to choose a new design, so I made a teddy bear. I can now remember the pattern by heart!

The bear is very small. It's about the size of my palm...

Then, I made a Pink flower...& added an alphabet charm. D is for Dalia...I wanted the present to be personalized & special...

And then I put everything together & TA-DAAAA...it's done! A cute teddy bear key-chain/charm!

Just so you know how small it is, here's the pictures (Front & Side):

When I presented to Christopher this morning on the way to school, he was so excited that he kept playing with it & said it's so cute...lol...I think he is hinting me to make him a similar one with his favorite Orange color...but he is a boy! He can't be seen with this, especially with the flower on it...hm...I think I need to think of something for boys who like teddy as well...

Well, after this, I think I will make a few plushes & keep, just in case there is a last minute notification of birthday parties...:)

Let's hope Dalia loves the charm specially done for her!

Cars & Cars 2 Themed Birthday Bash for Constantine's 7th Birthday

It was the time of the year again to celebrate my elder son's birthday...

Since 6 months ago, he mentioned he wanted Cars theme for the up-coming birthday party.

And since I now go for budget celebration (since I enjoyed DIY the party more than anything else), I decided to prepare everything instead of buying those ready made ones.

From the Invitation Card...

To the admission pass for the event. I have made a few versions: 1 for the birthday boy, 1 for the guests (with their names on it), 1 for the pit crews (for those who are willing to help organize the event)& 1 for the photographers (for helping to take photos of the event)...

To the party Packs...We have all the Cars stationery set, tissue, sticker book, keychains & I have added some snacks into the party packs as well...

Next, is to prepare the water bottles. I printed out the stickers to be pasted onto the water bottles...

Up close of the sticker on the water bottles...

Then, I printed the characters from Cars & Cars 2 onto thick art cards. These are for the game: Characters Line Up...

Cake Centerpiece Topper in the making...later you will see the completed version on the cake...

Cupcake Toppers, also printed on the thick art card & cut according to shapes...completed version later...

These are presents for the games...all nicely wrapped!

Since the theme is Cars, definitely a race track is the highlight!

At the venue (before the event starts)...displaying the VIP passes on the table...

Pasting the characters on the wall...

At the entrance to the event, we have the traffic light to guide the guests for registration & to collect their VIP Passes...At the back are the party packs...

Arranging the water bottles & cupcakes on the race track...

Entire decoration is done! Now to wait for the guests...

Oh...I also hired a party entertainer to hype up the event. He came dressed up as a race car driver!

Birthday Boy in action...that's Constantine in Orange shirt...

The entertainer is demonstrating a catwalk to the 'Umbrella Girls'...

Next, we have puzzles game...we divide the kids into 3 groups...It's great to see the kids focusing on something, isn't it?

Last game: Characters Line Up...all kids are given a name of a character & they are supposed to match the picture on the wall...

After a short magic show, the kids had their meals while the entertainer made them balloon sculptures...

At finally, the cake cutting ceremony! Can you see the cupcake toppers on each of the cupcake?

Up-close of the Centerpiece Topper...
All in all, it was a very tiring but fun day! I'm sure it is memorable for everyone!

Who says Baby Booties got to be Boring? - Part 1

Well, who says baby booties got to be boring?

I used to buy baby booties off the shelves, but some times I couldn't find the colors that I wanted. Plus, as you all know me, I like things uncommon. I don't like to dress up the same as everybody else.

So, with my new baby girl born just 3 months ago, I'm already on my needle & yarns already. As you know, girls like to dress up & it is definitely going to be costly to dress up your girl...

So, after completing my amigurumi projects, I took a break from it & decided to crochet some baby booties for my girl. There are some that I've completed...

My girl has a lot of purple color dresses but can't find booties for her...so, I made her this...

As a girl, of course she'll have a lot of pink dresses as well...

And finally, she also has some Blue dresses, just like the mommy!

Hm...I think I need to get some Yellow & Orange dresses for her as well...so that I can make her some nice Yellow & Orange booties!

So, what do you think?

Wedding....I love Wedding...

It's my colleague's wedding but unfortunately I can't go as I was heavily pregnant. Hence, I made something special for her...hope she will love it & use it on her wedding day...

For this bouquet, I didn't use the normal yarns to make it. I used thread that we use to make chinese auspicious knots. Not easy to make it, but the result is good as the thread is harder & it makes the petals stay the way it is supposed to be.

This is a 1 dozen white St Joseph Lilies with 4 lily buds...12 stalks of white lilies means YOU ARE THE ONE AND ONLY ONE...great start for a great marriage...

Hope you like it, Farina! And happy marriage!
